There are advantages to living in Florida besides the warm winters and the beach. We are going to see the grand kids this weekend. We all live in various parts of the state so we meet up in the center of the state for Orlando vacations two or three times a year. This weekend is one of them. I can't wait to see everyone. We always have such a great time when we all get together.
I know times are tough, but birthdays still happen. We have been hit by the economic downturn like everyone else. That said, my husband has a very big birthday coming up and I want to buy him something memorable. He is a total water hound, loves the beach, fishing, anything to do with the water. I am looking at an IWC Aquatimer. You only have one 60th birthday, right?
It is amazing but they rescued one of the 4 men missing in the Gulf of Mexico since Saturday. This time of year the gulf waters are pretty cold, it is hard to believe he could survive that long in those temperatures.
The boat capsized Saturday evening while they were fishing 35 miles off shore. It seems pretty foolish to be that far off shore in a 21 foot boat, especially since the weather was not very good. But I guess they are paying the price for their foolishness. I hope they are able to recover more of the men.
