An Old Friend

I was standing in Walmart looking at night wrinkle creams yesterday and ran into an old friend I haven't seen in years. She looked great and it was fun to catch up with what she has been doing. She is here on vacation. That's what happens living in a popular resort destination, you run into people from all over. I not so sure I want to run into them while I'm shopping for wrinkle creams, maybe I need to shop further away from the beach.

Have You Seen the Prices?

Have you seen the prices for a cruise lately? There are some awesome deals going on right now. I would give anything to be able to get away on a vacation. Unfortunately, my husband has surgery coming up later in the month so our summer is shot. I've got my fingers crossed that we will be able to get away for a while in the fall. Hopefully I will still be able to find some great travel deals at that time.

Heartbreaking

I have been speaking to an online writing friend of mine. She is in a heartbreaking situation. Her daughter's best friend left their house last Friday night to walk home and never made it. It was only 5 blocks down a residential road. So far they have not been able to locate her. The case has now made it to national news. It was featured on the Nancy Grace show the past two nights. So tragic.

Too Much Clutter

The clutter is taking over my office. My office is also my craft room and I used to have it organized into two separate areas. Lately I haven't been very disciplined and the craft clutter is encroaching on my office space. I think my only hope may be one of those free online auctions. I have entirely too much craft stuff for one person. My husband says that I could start my own shop with just the things in my stash. The bad part is, I think he is probably right.

Good News

I spoke to my neighbor this morning. She is having a very difficult time since being diagnosed with mesothelioma. Beyond all of her health concerns, she was turned down for Social Security disability. Fortunately she didn't stop there and hired a lawyer. She got the news this week that she has been approved. I am so thrilled for her, I know it takes a lot off of her mind. She was so worried about her husband having to try and pay all of the bills himself. They needed some good news.

I'm Bad

I know I'm bad. My evil sense of humor gets the best of me sometimes.

I just read about the explosion at a North Carolina food plant today. Several people were seriously injured. That is terrible news, and I feel for them and their families.

Here's the part that's bad. It was as a Slim Jim meat products plant. There's a problem now with toxic gas in the area....when there's Slim Jims involved, isn't there always toxic gas in the area? :)

Yard Sale

My neighbor behind me asked if she could have a yard sale at my house this weekend. I am on a busier street and have a large driveway area and front yard. She told me that she would pay me 20% of the proceeds for having it here. I responded that maybe I would seem something I'd like instead and she was happy with that. She has two tv stands that I have my eye on and I think she is planning to sell them. I hope so!
